  • “I have been practicing yoga with Alex for many years now. I always feel much more relaxed in both mind and body after a class. Tuesday is always the best night’s sleep of the week!”

  • “Alex is a brilliant teacher. I clamber wearily to each class and then come away with my body and spirit humming. It’s like I’ve been given back to myself. "

Yoga for the Vagus Nerve. “Rest and Digest”

Come and enjoy a class rooted in yoga and designed with an emphasis on resting and digesting. Here we’ll be relaxing and practising movements that help release the Vagus Nerve. We’ll start with the eyes and translate movement through the upper spine and upper back all the way down the body to the toes. We’ll explore how we can release stress and tension and move towards a more relaxed state in the nervous system. Along the way we’ll be working with how the rhythm of the breath in movement and stillness can impact the brain.

This is a movement class and a sound bath. Here we relax and acknowledge that the Vagus Nerve is connected with relaxation, and digestion, yet we also acknowledge that the recent press has almost oversimplified the powers of this nerve. Tonight we rest and digest and embrace the sacred mystery and beauty of life.
